New Role: Deputy General Manager – Strategy Implementation

Location: Sri Lanka

Reporting To: Chief Executive Officer

Closing Date: 12 January 2022


To work with the CEO and Executive team to own and drive the transformation process through the Sri Lankan business.

To develop a detailed project plan in collaborations with all stakeholders and work it, with the deliverables and timetable agreed.


o Determine the scope and develop a detailed Transformation plan with designated stakeholders

o Facilitate and lead the Operations call at each plant (EP, CP, FNF & YD), to ensure the transformation process remains on track

o Analyse the strengths, weaknesses, risks and opportunities of the projects and recommend ongoing improvements

o Perform cost calculations and assess financial impact to performance with the finance team

o Allocate personnel and resources to project tasks

o Collaborate across departments to set realistic project targets and timeframes

o Provide guidance and monitor the progress made with each project stage and department

o Escalate any concerns or issues that need immediate attention

o Facilitate suitable interventions to prevent costly delays

o Present progress updates to senior executives

o Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information

o Simplify complex data into a user-friendly format such as graphs, charts and other visual aids

o Any ad hoc work as required

Professional Qualifications and Qualities

o A Degree in business administration or a related discipline

o At least 8 years post qualification work experience in a similar role ideally in a manufacturing environment

o Extensive industry knowledge

o Advance proficiency in project management software

o Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

o Excellent leadership skills

o Ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders

o Great organisational, time-management and problem solving skills

o Strong skills in influencing and collaborating with others to achieve results

o Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines

o Proven track record working with staff and departments across all levels of the business

o Values driven with high integrity
