New Role: Head of Communications

Location: Nottingham

Reporting To: Chief Brand and Product Officer

To be a strategic thinker, driving our internal and external communications with meticulous attention to detail, working well under pressure, and meeting deadlines across all communication platforms and media.

To be innovative, organised, and self-motivated with a keen interest in driving strategic messages to key internal and external stake holders.

Work both individually and with our external comms partner to produce high-quality content that engages customers and builds brand recognition.


o Draft / review all company announcements to ensure the same consistent approach is maintained in all communications we make

o Review and critique all communications to our Shareholders

o Refresh ‘The Yarn’ with local monthly news and quarterly global news

o Work with all our companies / countries to ensure all content and communications are consistent and appropriate

o Prepare a communications newsletter for our customers and suppliers with our latest products and updates 2-3 times a year

o Work both individually and with our external comms partner to create informative and interesting communications for internal and external release via announcements, newsletters, websites, social media, etc.

o Write, edit. and distribute content, including publications, press releases, website content, social media and other marketing material that communicates the organisation’s products and activities

o Develop and implement effective communication strategies that build employee and customer loyalty and brand awareness

o Research and write press releases, and content for the company website, Linked in infographics, blogs, and newsletters

o Acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of the company’s policies, principles, and strategies, and keep up-to-date with relevant developments

o Supervise projects to guarantee all content is publication-ready

o Respond to communication-related issues in a timely manner

o Adhere to the company’s style guide, ensuring we produce high-quality and error-free publications

o Work with key internal role-players to brainstorm content ideas, in line with the company’s strategy and in support of various brand initiatives

o Support and evaluate results of communication campaigns with the team

o Other ad hoc projects and duties as requested

Professional Qualifications and Qualities

o A degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or relevant field

o At least 5 years work experience in a similar field

o Content writing experience for all media platforms

o Proven social media and networking expertise

o Excellent verbal and written communication skills

o Proven experience creating targeted content is advantageous

o Strong knowledge of communication practices and techniques

o Excellent organisational, multitasking and time management skills

o Excellent interpersonal and people skills

o Values driven with high integrity

o High level of business acumen
